Steve Marshall is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced UAS professional, with over 20 years military experience, acquired in the UK, on operations and training exercises worldwide, accruing over 1800 flying hours. Throughout his career he has served in numerous roles including UAS Pilot, Captain, Mission Commander, Instructor and observer / mentor.

After initially being employed in the military as a system engineering technician, specialising in satellite communications and end-to-end networking, he then moved into the world of UAS where he deployed on numerous operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan, operating both the Hermes 450 and Desert Hawk 3 (DH3) Unmanned Aerial Systems. His final tour of Afghanistan saw him deploy in the role of Senior Pilot, responsible for the assurance of all flying locations as well as developing and mentoring all UAS crews within theatre.

Steve has significant instructional experience and his final tour whist serving in the military was as the Senior Instructor for S2 RPAS within the British Army’s only MUAS regiment. Here he was responsible for delivering train-the-trainer packages, delivering Conversion-to-Type courses, pre-deployment training, UAS safety courses and assurance of all UAS crews, whilst also serving as principal advisor on all UAS matters to the commander. During this period, he also re-rolled the regiment to the AV Puma and Wasp systems.

As well as his instructional skills he has also fulfilled numerous assurance and flight safety roles where he has gained excellent knowledge of both military and civilian UAS regulations. Deploying worldwide to assess locations suitability to operate UAS and providing assurance to anywhere that UAS was already deployed.

Aside from his vast UAS experience, he has also specialised in counter surveillance, information activities, civil affairs, psychological warfare and worked as an ISR advisor within various Headquarters.

Steve has excellent regulatory and technical knowledge and an extensive background in the employment of multirotor, Tactical, and Miniature UAS in both VLOS and BVLOS conditions.
